Our Team

Aditya Avadhanula

Aditya began his career in research and development of nanomaterials for applications in ‘plastic’ solar cells and advanced composites. He subsequently consulted companies such as Intel, Micron, and others to improve high energy processes for semiconductor device fabrication. Aditya has also advised companies on over $30B of Mergers & Acquisitions transactions as an Associate in Ernst & Young’s M&A transactions group. His research work, and software products have been featured by the MRS, ACS, Nature magazine, Apple’s App Store, TechCrunch, Stanford Daily and several other leading publications. He holds a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Cornell. On a nice day, he enjoys a game of golf with friends.

Curtis Baker

Curtis has over 10 years of programming and product management experience and is focused on design and deployment of SaaS/Cloud platforms. He specializes in database design and development utilizing PostgreSQL, and Oracle. He was previously a software developer for the Physician’s Computer Company, and lead developer of EHS applications at Cornell. Curtis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Vermont, and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Cornell. Curtis grew up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and is an avid skier and snowboarder. After college he briefly apprenticed as a Thai chef and has become quite skilled in Asian cuisine. He is also a self-proclaimed foodie, and is charged with finding the SafetyStratus team culinary excellence during team travels.

Cary Usrey

Cary comes to the SafetyStratus team as the Vice President of Operations with almost 30 years of experience in several different industries. Cary began his career in the United States Navy’s nuclear power program. From there he transitioned into the public sector as an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager in the utility industry. After almost thirteen years, Cary transitioned into the construction sector as a Safety Director at a large, international construction company. Most recently Cary held the position of Manager of Professional Services at a safety software company, overseeing the customer success, implementation, and process consulting aspects of the services team. At SafetyStratus, Cary is focused on helping achieve the company’s vision of “Saving lives and the environment by successfully integrating knowledgeable people, sustainable processes, and transformative technology”. Cary recently hails from upstate New York but spent his youth moving around a great deal as a son of a career Air Force NCO. Cary holds a degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Trinidad State. In his free time, Cary enjoys traveling with his wife and family to new and exciting destinations.

Wendy Kern-Usrey

Wendy comes to the SafetyStratus team with decades of experience in both operations and sales. Following college, Wendy served as a General Manager of a printing company, as an Operations Manager for a large envelope manufacturer and as a Senior Production Manager and Sales Executive of a large printing broker in NYC. In addition, Wendy is a very active volunteer in the community. She has worked with the Lake County Education Foundation for the past 12 years as a Senior Volunteer Leader for the Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Festival. Wendy originally hails from the NYC tri-state area, recently from upstate New York but currently resides in the Orlando, Florida area. In her free time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her children engaging with multiple Clubs and volunteer endeavors but traveling with her family to new and exciting destinations is her favorite.

Allen Holt

Allen primarily focuses on web application development for the SafetyStratus team. His experience encompasses Coldfusion, PHP, ASP.NET, and SQL languages and servers (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL). Originally from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Allen came to SafetyStratus by way of Los Angeles where he received a degree in Computer Science from Los Angeles Valley College. During his time in Los Angeles, he also spent time working as an electrician and gaffer for film productions and wrote several screenplays.

Greg Kwolek

Greg brings nearly 10 years of experience as an environmental health and safety professional to the SafetyStratus team. At the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Greg supported construction, industrial and research projects by employing innovative methods for sharing knowledge and information with staff from all corners of the site. Later, at Columbia University, Greg continued to focus on ways to infuse environmental health and safety programs with modern technologies, while overseeing research safety personnel and activities. With SafetyStratus, Greg is focused on making technology applications work seamlessly in support of the environmental health and safety needs of any user, in any industry. Greg is originally from Holmdel, New Jersey, and has called the New York City area home for many years. Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Safety Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from Hunter College. and is a Certified Safety Professional. Away from work, Greg enjoys keeping up with the weather and is always tracking the next big storm. He also holds a commercial pilot license, which he only puts to use during calm, boring, and above all else, safe weather.

Stephenie Langston

Stephenie began her career as a bench scientist in infectious disease laboratories before joining the Environmental, Health and Safety department at the University of Florida. While at UF, Stephenie worked in lab safety, biosafety/IBC, and served as the EHS consultant to the IACUC. During her time, she managed safety concerns and successfully facilitated the IBC’s transition from paper to the online Biosafety Permits module. In addition to her role at UF, Stephenie was an active member of CSHEMA and co-founder of their Animal Research Health & Safety Community of Practice which aims to bridge the communication gap between safety and animal husbandry. Stephenie holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida. Stephenie is passionate about process improvement and brings a unique skillset to the team that is founded in hard work, adapting to change, and making safety more approachable for everyone. Outside of the office, Stephenie enjoys cooking and traveling to new destinations with her husband, son, and two dogs.

Madelaine Register

Madelaine joins the team with a decade of experience in the K-12 public education space. Madelaine started her career as a 7th-grade teacher in El Dorado, Arkansas as a Teach for America corps member. Madelaine moved into school operations post-teaching where she created new roles to better serve students and families. Throughout her time in operations, she oversaw compliance in school safety, food service management, grant administration, student enrollment, and general operational standards. Madelaine brings this experience to her role as a Project Manager for SafetyStratus where she facilitates the implementation process for customers from a variety of industries. Madelaine is a proud “Double Gator,” having received both her Bachelor’s Degree in History and Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Florida. She lives in Jacksonville, Florida, and in her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and working out with her husband at CrossFit.

Tom Proulx (Board Director)

Tom was the co-founder of Intuit, a company he started in his Stanford dorm room and built into one of the world’s leading software companies. During Tom’s eleven years at Intuit he wrote the original Quicken software, he was a prime mover behind its successful merger with TurboTax and was a senior leader of the company through to its successful IPO. He was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ by Inc. Magazine in 1992. Tom earned his degree in EE/CS from Stanford University.

Hilary Framke

Hilary Framke has joined SafetyStratus as Vice President, EHS Solutions. After a decade of progressive EHS leadership roles in the industrial and commercial markets, Hilary has directly faced the work-related risks that lead to employee injuries/illnesses and compliance exposure. With a diverse global perspective on EHS, Hilary joins the SafetyStratus team to further her goal of developing innovative programs to solve EHS issues. Hilary brings a breadth of knowledge on EHS software and how they significantly improve productivity, EHS integration, remote work, employee collaboration, and data visibility to mitigate costly risks. This newly created role enhances SafetyStratus’ ability to understand the complex world of EHS responsibilities to enable efficiency by harnessing the power of data. Starting out as an EHS technician on the night shift in a poultry manufacturer in the Midwest, Hilary has experienced every level of EHS work while progressing through the food industry and eventually shifting to the medical device industry. Most recently, Hilary was the Global EHS Director of a business line within Siemens Healthineers, the 3rd largest medical device manufacturer in the world. Previous to that, she led the environmental, health, safety, sustainability, and facilities management functions at Smiths Medical, a global medical device manufacturer. During her tenure, Smiths Medical achieved world-class results and won EHS Today’s America’s Safety Companies award in back-to-back application cycles. Hilary’s direct experience in manufacturing, service, research & development, and distribution will be applied to the SafetyStratus platform of offerings and client relationships to share her expertise and ideas for improvement.
